And Another Thing...

You know, this page was going to be filled with me yelling at "I-mus-b-a-fool" but it's not worth it. I've said what I mean and I mean what I've said. And he's not worth me giving my phone number to call me. But I would like to meet him. You know, have a little chat with him. Ya'll have a good day now. I'm going to put my pot of Red Beans on to cook. Now that feels better! Peace. I remain, Mrs. Phyllis Montana-Leblanc.

Don Imus and The Story of The Frog and The Scor...

I heard this story as a child and since then I heard others speak of it. Sometimes you change the animals in the story but the moral is still the same. This is the way I remember it: Once upon a time there was a Scorpion sitting on the side of a river. The Scorpion wanted to get to the other side of this river. After waiting for a very long time a Frog hopped up along side the Scorpion and right before the Frog jumped into the river to go to the other side the Scorpion yelled out to him asking for a ride across. The Frog looked at the Scorpion and said to him, "No, if I gave you a ride on my back you would sting me and I would die." The Scorpion begged and pleaded, promising that he would not sting the Frog. This went on for some time and finally the Frog believed the Scorpion and told him to get on his back and that he would give him a ride across the river. The Scorpion gets on the Frog's back and they get to the other side of the river. Once they are land the Scorpion stings the Frog with his poison. As the Frog lies there dying he says to the Scorpion, "but you promised that you would'nt sting me." The Scorpion says, "I know I did, but you see, it's in my nature." and the Frog died. You see, this is why I don't understand why people are so surprised at Imus's racial comments. After the "Nappy-Headed Ho's" comment, I don't see him anymore. Now, who needs to be held responsible for his actions are those who pay him. Those are the ones who literally support his racist views. They are allowing him to speak for them. It is in his nature to be a racist and he's proven that. A black man who has trouble with the law, or continues to make bad judgments still does not give Imus or anyone else the right to make a racial slur on national radio. This is crazy! Where is the FCC on this? But they followed Janet Jackson around for a lawsuit when her breast popped out of her clothes. The level of tolerance is amazing when it comes to putting a stop to this and this is why some people believe that it's never going to end...Like me. Imus's ass needs to be removed from his spot, take off that raggedy ass cowboy hat and put on his true hat. What's next? Are they going to allow him to burn a cross on the show? Or maybe he'll show up to work with a noose around his neck dressed in black-face singing a song that slaves sung when they were out in the fields picking cotton, or agree with Clint Eastwood that The 92nd Division of the Buffalo Soldiers were insignificant during World War II. I believe that if we really wanted to change this world we could. But there are always going to be those who don't like others for whatever reason, but I thought that there were laws put into place to protect people from people like Imus. I guess we just have to fight the battles as they come and trust that God has the last word and Judgement Day IS GUARANTEED. And I'm getting really close to the point of offering Imus to call me at 504-------! He is what he is but those who pay him should pay for him. I remain, Mrs. Phyllis Montana-Leblanc. Peace.

Not Just The Levees Broke...

Peace to the many supporters of New Orleans, Louisiana during and after Hurricane Katrina. I am one of the many, many SURVIVORS OF HURRICANE KATRINA. I was featured in SPIKE LEE'S HBO FILM DOCUMENTARY,"WHEN THE LEVEES BROKE." As life in New Orleans, Louisiana are moving forward and healing, so am I and my native New Orleanians. With the very instrumental help that I recieved from Mr. Lee, I have a Hurricane Katrina Memoir being published by Simon&Schuster, New York, New York. My agent is William-Morris Agency,LLC. New York, New York. The publish date is August 19,2008. I am being scheduled for a 3-City Book Tour: New Orleans, New York and Washington,DC. There is also for viewing, an Author's Video on Simon&Schuster's Site as well as Barnes & Noble, YouTube and a few others. I look forward to sharing a more indepth telling of what myself, husband, and family as well as others went through during and after Hurricane Katrina. The city itself, commercially is well on its way to being the city it was pre-katrina, but a great deal of people still have not returned back home. Some have welcomed the change in other cities and are better off, some have no choice, and some still cannot accept how they cannot come back home because of political bullshit. The city of New Orleans is still struggling and this is to let folks abroad know that I appreciate all of the help that volunteers are still doing three years later. It is because of people like yourselves who give hope to the hopeless. I thank you. My life is changing for the better and moving forward, but what I went through, personally will not ever be forgotten. Forgiven but not forgotten for as long as I live. IN MY STORY, "NOT JUST THE LEVEES BROKE" I will share not only the horror of Hurricane Katrina, how the city and it's people were treated but the hope, looking to the future and hopefully change someone else's life to move forward. Life is not easy and Mother Nature is not a discriminating force, only we, human beings are. All across this country devastation is happening and we have to put aside our differences and our focus on what divides us and look to what brings us together. I just hope that my story will help not only the people of New Orleans, but people everywhere. My hope is not in vain. I believe that we have more in us than we give ourselves credit for and there is nothing wrong with that something being good. Peace and Love. I remain, MRS. PHYLLIS MONTANA-LEBLANC. HURRICANE KATRINA SURVIVOR.
